'They were showed' VS 'They were shown'


Zac says:

"women's brains lit up like fireworks, when they were showed pictures of shoes"

Shouldn't it be shown? If not, why?

If we use the verb "draw" instead of "show" it would be "drawn" not "drew".

Any grammar nazi to help me out here?

Oh crap just realized "showed" can be used as past participle as well.

Well that answers my question.

I thought/wondered the same thing. Although it's ok to use showed, it just doesn't sound right.
