Jake's Diet and Work Out routine

Any body know?

reply

Stop eating *beep* and hit the gym.

That's all you need to do.

reply

If it were that simple I would look like a Spartan from 300. But I don't. Its obviously a bit more elaborate than that.

reply

Do you run? I'm 46 and have a similar body. Maybe 4lbs more I could lose. I run 30 miles a week at around 7.5mph and I lift intensely for four hours a week (no breaks). I don't eat white flour or refined sugar, and I try to go easy on cars, but I eat a lot of steak and drink some scotch. NO BEER!!!! Beer makes you fat in a way that whisky and wine do not.

reply

Thanks. That's exactly the type of "elaboration" I refer to.
That's a bit of an intense program. Good job.
I run, workout, do some intense yoga occasionally, and pay attention to my food (no fast food at all, no red meats, avoid refined sugar, almost no alcohol at all) but definitely need to get a bit more dedicated to my workouts and cut a bit more on desserts and carbs.
I plan to loose about 5-6 lbs of fat, and keep the muscle I currently have. Started this morning.

in the movie, Billy doesn't drink. They say that alcohol reduces the benefit of the following day's work out. also, it has calories. i think that in magic Mike, Tatum's character talks about not drinking alcohol.

I have 7-9 drinks a week. if i didn't drink, i'd be closer shrinkwrapped. but it's hard to sustain sucha lifestyle years after year. you have to find a fitness lifestyle that's sustainable. actors who get ripped for movies often lose it after six months.

reply

True.
Alcohol rally sucks for getting in shape: to metabolize it you spend a lot of energy; it dehidrates; and just the general hangover at any level it's an energy-killer.
Nowadays I drink only the occasional glass of wine with dinner, so alcohol is not the problem for my health-program. It's mostly the dedication to spend more hours exercising, and reducing or eliminating certain foods (as the "churro" I had in my breakfast! LOL).

Don't know his entire routine or diet, but i saw an interview stating he did 2000 pushups a day and ran 8 miles.

reply

I know it sounds skeptical to say this, but I doubt he did 2000 push ups a day LOL. I'd imagine it wouldn't be possible to do that, unless you had super powers. Also, doing that much per day would be counter productive and would take up so much time. Would be a big waste. I think Jake is just lying like many celebs do to try and add some wow factor to his transformation.

reply

Lettuce, Insulin and HGH

reply

It was 2000 sit ups. Not push ups

reply

Treadmill, Steroids, Steroids and Steroids. Rinse and Repeat.

reply

Probably some clen too. Even still I'm sure he worked out hard. Can't just take roids and clen and not work out and get ripped like that. Also diet.

reply

For *beep* sake, what is wrong with you guys? Always this *beep* with steroids, i'm tired of it. You really think that you can't achieve a body like that without taking steroids? Sure, you don't get it with just sitting on your ass and eating Happy Meals at McDonalds.
I'm not naive enough to say that no one takes steroids. But if you take them, you look different than that. And i don't think he's that type of guy. If you see some interviews of Jake, you can tell how much passion and dedication he has for his job, so i guess he just did everything he could, to get in this shape. He worked his ass off, ate clean and when you know something about the training of a boxer, you are not surprised that he ends up like that. And like someone before said, they have the best coaches and nutritionists.
And sure he has a great body in that movie, but nothing you can't achieve without steroids. All the people talking about steroids, i bet you actually never put a foot in a gym, at least not longer than one week or month.

reply

hollywood actors use steroids and that other stuff that athletes arent allowed to use. Also they have access to worlds best trainers and its their job so makes sence he would be ripped. Also before he shoots a shirtless scene or something he most likely does excersise right before so his muscles show more and starve himself of water as well.

reply

To think of it - it's kind of ironic that these actors earn millions, but have to be on the water diet to earn the millions. Meanwhile there are millions of people diyng because of starvation.

P.S. I don't want to sound like hypocritical world saver with this post. It was just one thought narrated by George Carlin's voice.

reply

that's a cop out. no steroids. a steroid body is like Mr. Atlas.

Just run 30-35 miles a week, count your calories, eat good food, and lift hard.

About 9 years ago, I saw Sam Rockwell (the actor) at a gym in NYC. Same Rockwell rarely takes hi shirt off in movies, but that guy was in very good shape and working out like a machine.

actors work out like it's their job.

my gym has trainers in Jake's shape. no steroids. but they run/lift 20 hours a week.

reply

Doesn't matter. You won't be able to emulate it without his three secret weapons: best trainers money can buy, best nutritionists money can buy, and best steroids and HGH money can buy.

reply

Why does everyone assume steroids? People can't get ripped without roids?

reply

He was probably working out instead of hanging out, starting threads on imdb
