I agree. She's definitely old enough to be playing mother roles, but Billy Bob is no spring chicken. But I suppose I can stretch my imagination and assume she's playing a few years older and he's playing a few years younger. It happens in Hollywood a lot - with men too - actors are cast as parents when they're only a few years older than the actor playing their kid. It mostly seems due to getting big names.
