Trying way too hard by using excessive crude vulgar toilet humor and profanity without any originality. I have no problem with that but at least be funny. This is an attempted money-grab by BBT and the producers/studio. Garbage.
Completely agree. The original wasn't crude for the sake of being crude. It had heart, and the crudeness made sense. This whole trailer looked like they were trying way too hard. Looks horrendous
Oh frack off you pretentious twats. It's a TRAILER, of course it'll contain humorous stuff to sell it to the audience. It's not gonna be marketed as a drama
I don't think their comments can really be categorized as "pretentious." Obviously trailers are going to focus on the lowest common denominator, but I doubt they're hiding any golden jokes in there just for the paying audience to see. Okay, not like the original was a masterpiece, but the trailer was just trying way too hard to appear shocking and outrageous. It actually made me cringe a couple of times.

I actually liked the greenband trailer better than the redband one. We get to see a little more dialogue and the plot unfold and less gags. The one thing I didn't like about the greenband was Willie slapping his mother. Not that that that offended me--hell, I thought it was funny when he beat the crap out of those teens in the original, but because it seemed way over the top the way he decked his mother, almost slapstick.
Otherwise, it looks like a fun movie. I wonder how much screen time Kathy Bates is going to have. Judging from the trailer, not very much, but trailers can be misleading.
