I might understand Willie forgiving Marcus because he's highly unreliable with his "3 B's" (more booze, more bulls**t, more butt-fking) Marcus was very frustrated with him and for a reason. But in reality, yes... if a friend was planning and attempting to kill you, that should suffice to cut ties permanently in most cases.
