Much Better Than The Reviews Are Saying
I just got back from seeing it. Yeah, it's nowhere near as good as the first one, but it's much better than any recent comedy sequel. Cast did a great job and the chemistry between Thornton and the rest of the cast was just as strong this time around as it was in the first movie. Although there are a few moments that feel like they are trying too hard to be raunchy, most of the humor worked. What surprised me the most was that the story was actually pretty good and the film still managed to combine a decent amount of drama and heart like the first one did. Aside from the one I already mentioned, my other complaints are that during the 2nd act there are a few scenes that felt like they were beginning to drag on and that the climax did feel a bit rushed. With that said, if you enjoyed the first one I honestly don't see why you wouldn't like this one. Certainly not as good as the first, but still a decent sequel that's worth watching.
