Perfect follow-up to the uncompromised spirit of the original

Right off the mark where Thornton's porn is shut off, he's trying to kill himself with an electric stove, and hang himself with a toaster, this movie picks up right where the last one left off (save for the kid now being a young adult). I laughed out loud numerous times, and was never bored.

Sure, Kathy Bates sometimes felt a little forced as the mother, trying to out-do Thornton in sleazy references and vulgarity, but if you're a fan of the first one (luckily it was playing on tv right before I went so I was well-primed) this one won't disappoint.

I agree. Sequels are mostly pretty terrible, especially with so many years between but this worked for me. Certainly not as good as the first but it wasn't a train crash either. Billy Bob can hold his head high as he manages to pull it off once again (no pun intended).

I watched it at the cinema today and a couple walked out during it.

While this installment of the Bad Santa franchise is no where near as original, or funny, as the first, it still is better than most comedies that have been released in recent years.

A sequel by its very nature isn't as original as the first, since it's a follow-up on the original's premise. Actually found it funnier in some ways than the first; the Ritter and Bernie Mac scenes kind of dragged.

Funny you should mention Ritter and Bernie Mac. I preferred both of them to the inept security guard in Bad Santa 2.
