Will it ruin my love for the first BS?

I'm worried this movie is going to be so bad that it ruin the first movie's appeal. This has happened in the past with sequels that were so bad I never could enjoy the first's ever again, like Boondock Saints and the Matrix and so on... The original Bad Santa holds a special place in my heart, I'm not just trying to be a dick. Thanks

I had the same thought based on friends of a friend's reviews. But F them, it was f'ing funny. I mean we had 3-4 eggnogs before going and some booze during, but if I rated original a 9 I'd rate this a 7 or 7.5. Don't think any storyline would ruin it even if you didn't like it.

Yeah it's OK. Definitely not as funny as the first. Hell Willie is hardly even drunk in this one.

Don't worry. It probably will. If it happened for you for The Matrix trilogy, it probably will this time too. For me, this one was just as great as the first one, but you can't be shocked twice with the same amount, from the same thing. Look at it not as the sequel, but as the second episode of a sitcom. There is nothing that is missing here. Political incorrectness at its best, curses, drinking, asses, anal sex, dumb kid, selfish crooks, with great acting from three Oscar winners, and great editing...
Just as The Matrix Reloaded was the perfect second act of The One, Big, Three-part movie. There never were three movies, or sequels to compare, it is just One movie, and only One story that is reviled to us and to the main character in three parts. The first one was full of great action, fighting scenes and special effects, Oracle lying to get what she wants, and the cunning story of virtual reality put on by machines just for show to trick peoples mind in order to use their bodies... The Reloaded was the same, just bigger action, bigger and better fighting scenes and special effects, more stunning lies by Oracle, an more cunning virtual reality from the machines. The third one was resolution, and just as any third act in a movie it had some more intense action, bigger and uglier villains, and some more or less big twist at the end.
And, believe it or not, there are people in this world that do not like even the first Matrix, they did not understand the plot, cold not relate to it. That was the big thing everybody talked about until Revolution came out. Same for The Bourne Identity. And those are not some weird alien people, just the normal ones, that like Home alone, and Pet detective, and Lethal weapon, and Taxi, and Terminator 2, and Silence of the lambs... But somehow, just do not find those stories that interesting or that good. Just as I organically can't stand any movie or a show that has ghosts, or hunted houses, or knights, or musketeers clothes, or vampires or werewolfs, elf ears, or anything that has to do with, wait for it, Star Wars. Tried to watch the first one last year, fell asleep 4 times thru it. Did not find anything in it interesting, either story, or characters, or photography, nothing. Same for the Game of thrones. Haven't seen even a single trailer for it, no matter how many people are watching it or talk about it. But I watched House M.D. probably 5 or 6 times over. Bourne Identity 10. Matrix 20 times. And I watch Terminator and Lethal weapon series every 6 months.
But this movie was fun and funny, some scenes I rewound and watched twice or thrice and laughed like a lunatic every time, just like with the first one. It is just the way those three use their voices to curse that makes it great. Every word is a punch-line for its self. Do watch it. It is so good.
