I couldn't get over how bad it was.

For me, this film strained credibility beyond what I could handle. The writing was amateurish, the directing painfully clumsy. I love Macy as an actor, but as writer and director? I think he should stick to his day job.

reply

I really enjoyed the movie, I loved the music, Anton Yelchin and Billy Crudup were excellent, they made me tear a bit, and I didn't see the twist coming.
Of course, I don't know much about direction, but the movie was perfectly fine for me.

reply

Well I don't know what you consider good theatre, but this film was well acted, and directed, and the music was phenomenal.

reply

I must admit the acting and music was fine. But it was the story that sucked.

The ex stalks the dad for two years then ruins his chance if getting a life back? All because apparently you can't play songs written by murderers? Lol what a joke

reply

She didn't stalk him, she finally decided to let go and move on. Her passing on the bay's music, equipment and demos were what led to Sam's redemption. You don't understand storytelling very well, apparently.

reply

davehoc, perhaps you should stick to films with special effects.

Strained credibility? I guess you don't know anyone who has lost a child, especially in violent senseless way.

I know someone whose 28 year old son committed suicide, this is exactly how it goes many times. One or both parents go down the tubes, the drinking, can't function at work...all very realistic.

This was a well acted story that was very original given what the son did.

Again, maybe you need to stick with films that provide special effects and explosions.

Your coping skills need work.
