sharePlease explain how it was racist? The film actually went to great efforts to show that this was clearly a civil war type dealy. With the local hotel management actually trying to protect Owen Wilson. The country is shown as cultured and interesting, as is Kenny Rogers. If this were the exact same film set in Russia, would you deem it racist? NO! Coutries in the 3rd world suffer horribly all the time, and yes, being a stranger in a foreign land under attack is scary no matter what race you are.
