besides the bad guys and Stormy? I don't remember if they said or not. What happened to the bowling people that he was trying to save in the first place?

Least one security guard, maybe a few others during the shoot all the windows deal but yeah it never really took off.

that was the girl who was chased by the dogs. the chiefs daughter? it was never really clear on who she was, or that she died but it was her not someone at the mall
shareWell, whoever she was, she wasn't the chief's daughter. The book states that the chief and his wife never had children. That's why some in the police force saw the chief as a sort of surrogate father to Odd.

Yes the grinder man was killed at the mall but the woman had been killed by the dogs well before the mall shooting. I think the OP, like myself, was wondering just how the gunman spayed fire all over the place and seemed to hit nothing but a bunch of windows and Stormy. Ridiculous.

I think your operative word is "seemed." Truth is we DON'T know if there were casualties in the mall other than the obvious ones. If the book says 19, that's good enough for me.

shareIt seemed to me the shooters were just a distraction for Nico Tortorella's character to set the explosives. They weren't really trying to hit anyone, but to create chaos.
Lysette (the blonde mauled to death by the dogs) wasn't the Chief's daughter. Different surnames.
Also, the chief didn't have kids (according to the book).
