Don't buy the motivation (Spoilers)

I understand wanting revenge if you think someone (Sam) killed your son/brother, but why go to all the trouble they went through to exact it? Just kill her, why bother with killing or trying to kill her friends and doing it in the Ghost Face costumes? I just think the writers were reaching on this one (but not as bad as the motivation for Scream 5). Just my opinion.

I think it's part of the plan to frame Sam. It'll be more believable that she indeed was the killer in 5 if they can make her look like the killer here.

I also have trouble with the motivation. Mainly because you need to accept that your son was a killer, and you stooping to his level won't change that fact.

1) Wouldn’t be much of a Scream film without the donning of the Ghostface suit and killing the protagonist’s friends. (Would also be a very short film.) 2) It’s exactly what Billy’s mom did in the first sequel, lol. But you can bet they also wanted to make Richie proud… HONOR HIS SO-CALLED LEGACY… by doing all this.

Lol, but it’s really no crazier than the motivation most of the *psychopath killers* in this series had. Still reaching? Definitely not compared to the likes of Jill in Scream 4 (she just wanted her aunt’s fame, lol) and even Mickey in Scream 2.
