Honestly they should have done it a long time ago. If they were actually trying to play by the rules of horror movies, the original girl does not keep on coming back. It also limits the possibilities to come up with fresh stories when they have to tie everything back to her.

That's because as Amber points out, it's a different villain every time. And so this franchise inverts it by always focusing on the same girl. As all the killers have until #5.

Let's just pray they don't decide that recasting her would be a good idea.

I mean she should have died a long time ago, they have no business in glorifying her in every installment. However they need a helluva good reason to justify her not being around for this chapter.

She's raising her family. The survivors from Scream 5 are the ones being hunted. Honestly, she wasn't even that necessary to the last one so why not move on.

Neve's great and all, and I've always liked her, but should she really be this picky about a salary?? It's not like she's that hot of a commodity as a big movie leading actress other than these Scream movies. Seams a bit too big for her britches kind of. 🤔🤔

When it comes to Neve, Scream has always been her treasure chest and where she earns most of her royalties so I think she's entitled to a little prancing about when it comes to her piece of the cake. Besides that, I'm with you she shouldn't get to pick and choose because she's kinda mediocre and her range varies poorly.
