Anyone else feel this film was sooo 1987????

Just had a very 80's feel...decent film but it seems like it's been made a thousand times already.

Fully agree. I love this genre of movie...so I was really looking forward to this (I RARELY see movies opening weekend but I made an exception since I had heard such good things...)

I was disappointed...

Do you expect anybody to take you seriously when you type like that? This isn't a text to your friend. The stupidest part is that it doesn't even save you any time so what is the advantage? Iz it cuz it makes ya kool?

Signatures are stupid.

I agree! While the feel isn't very obvious to me, it did seem like a remake of, say, No Way Out starring K Costner, an 80s film.

reply

It certainly didn't cover new ground.

I think that was largely the point - the big players and "so-called" experts of the finance world haven't learned their lessons from the mistakes of the past and are now making all the same mistakes that led to the global crash at the end of the eighties.

I think every 20 years a new generation of storytellers comes along to tell us old stories that they think are new because they weren't around 20 years ago.

Your complaints are a bit harsh.

Remember the proverb: There's nothing new under the sun.

Look at the smash hit Avatar. It was basically Dances with Wolves but I enjoyed in never the less.

I thought this movie had an R rating. How the hell did these 12 year olds, commenting in this thread, get to see it?

Agree with you completely. Have you seen the photo of the writer / director? Looks to be about 23, probably never heard of the original Wall Street, doesn't know this movie has been made since the 1940s.
