Confused about this....someone help.

The whole film was great but there was just one thing i got confused and didn't understand it.

When near the ending, the wife asked for her price that she will tell his lie and save him unless he transfer all his money to Brooke Miller (the daughter) and he said he won't do it ever. Why was that? I mean even if he would transfer it, the money would stay in the family then why he didn't agree for it.

Did you not see how pissed his family was at him? Had he transferred all his money to her account, he wouldn't see a penny from it. By the time the mother and daughter were in the workout room, the wife had already given up on him. She was checked out. She convinced her daughter to think and do on her own - leave her dad out of her life.

That last scene where he kisses his wife and hugs his daughter on the stage spelled out his fate. It was colder than witches titty!!!
