"Wet Dreams" was great. Reminded me of the old Tales From the Crypt episodes.
shareThey all sucked, they reminded me of the cheaply made "Tales From the Darkside" episodes from the 80's but this crap wasn't even that good.
You stream it, I watch it, I spread the word = BUZZ 4 Films That Need It!
I was surprised how horrible they all were!
I thought one might be good atleast, but damn they all sucked.
I agree. The one about the woman and the memories had potential, but just didn't come out well.
share1.The Accident
2.The Theatre Bizarre (segments)
3.Sweets
4.I Love You
Personally I believe the reason why this anthology film doesn't really work despite most of the segments being decent to great (The Mother Of Toads is the exception) is that they all don't belong together.Different styles and tones don't mix well and you can't make a cohesive film with those elements.Just look at Grindhouse.
Planet terror is undoubtedly the better of the two but Tarantino's film ruined the experience because it brought down the energy level.
The monster you feared did not exist until you created it.
Youre nuts, deathproof was awesome.
I liked the one where the girl tells the french dude she slept with a bunch of guys. Ha.
shareIt's hard to say, I don't think there was a real stand out among the stories. The best part were the in between segments of the theater itself. Udo Kier was easily the highlight of the movie.
If I had to choose one I'd probably go with I Love You because it had an interesting psychological aspect to it. The back and forth about the affairs was also amusing.
I thought Mother of Toads was probably the most typical of the lot, would be perfectly at home with the style of series such as Fear Itself or Dead Time Stories. No real originality to it at all, just some quick tits and a monster.
Wet Dreams definitely came across as a weak Tales from the Crypt episode. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't good either.
The Accident I don't understand why was even included in a horror anthology. It didn't really seem to have a point at all. Which is unfortunate because it did have a quality feel to the direction and cinematics. Just... it was pointless. Good on a technical level alone doesn't go very far.
Vision Stains had the most potential as a story but was horribly executed. The polar opposite of The Accident. It was laughable to watch, which is a shame considering the concept had merit.
Sweets... Now theres a premise that has been done to death. And a billion times better. Again, like Wet Dreams, I won't say it was outright bad and there is something to be said for the surreal atmosphere... just, it wasn't good either. Except the final scene in the Last Supper pose, that was just plain idiotic because you know they thought it was clever when they filmed it.
My favorite segments were "The Accident," "I Love You," "Vision Stains," and "Sweets."
I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!
