Is that any good?

I like a lot of the directors attached and a couple of the actors. Has anyone seen it (I assume so since there are 30+ votes!) and how is it?

It's absolutely dire.

The wrap-around segments are reasonably nice, creepy and effective -although utterly meaningless.

The first segment 'The Toad Queen' or something of that nature, was laughable in pretty much every way, but all unintentionally so.

The second segment was some bizarre relationship drama set in Berlin with a bit of a horror twist ending, but a crap one. It might have been passable as a bland, cliched bit of drama if it wasn't so horribly acted, and with a blatantly American actress doing one of the worst French accents I've ever heard. Awful. This is the low point of the film.

The third segment was Tom Savini's effort. It had a concept and a good twist ending that could have been put to good use as something like an episode of 'Tales from the Crypt', but unfortunately it wasn't executed very well and it just came off as overly complex, failed comedy.

I forget the ordering from this point on, but there was a segment called "The Accident" that I genuinely enjoyed -however, it's not even close to being "horror" and felt very out of place within the context of the film. Still, it was a solid, interesting piece of work which will probably turn some people off for it feeling quite arty.

Then there was a segment about a girl who steals murder-victims' eye fluid and injects it into her own eyes so as to steal their memories. This segment had a lot of nice ideas and moments, but ultimately it didn't quite come together. It was still one of the better parts of the film, though.

Then there was a segment called "Sweets" which was by far the best acted. Its lead actor was great in fact, though that's probably more due to brilliant casting than his performance -not to say that his performance wasn't good.
The segment was nicely directed, had good production design and so forth but unfortunately it was still complete crap. It was pretentious, arty crap with tired messages that I've seen done better elsewhere.

I think that's all of the them although I might be forgetting a segment. If I am, it's not even good enough to remember. Overall, The Theatre Bizarre is a terrible film and it's a shame that the people behind "The Accident" didn't opt to get that part released as a short as it's now going to be bogged down by this utter ball-sack of a film.

Art is a lie that tells the truth.

Thank you for the overview (and the warning!)

I loved it.

So... instead of asking random people on the internet, (which is the worst thing to do in ANY case), why don't you watch it yourself and form your own opinion?

It's okay. Not as good as I was hoping, considering some of the contributors, but not bad either. 6/10 overall, the Giovinazzo, Savini and Stanly segments I liked, not so much the others.

Thanks Corpus! I guess if it pops up somewhere and I'm not doing anything else I'll probably give it a look.

No problem and yeah, it's pretty much the type of film you would watch if you had nothing better planned. It's hit n miss. Neither terrible or remarkable, really.

I loved the three segments you disliked Corpus. Buck, Hussain and Gregory really delivered, imo. The other three were decent but nothing memorable... with the exception of the mutant vagina in the Savini segment. I was disappointed at how let down I was by Stanley's piece considering how much I love his Dust Devil. Mother of Toads just felt so insubstantial to me... even for a short film.

I hated the whole thing , even the good parts were sucked up and ruined by the rest of the film.

You stream it, I watch it, I spread the word = BUZZ 4 Films That Need It!

One of the worst horror movies ive ever seen (or movies for that matter).
Terrible, garbage, stay away!

I was hoping I would enjoy one or two of them but wow, they all sucked! Each had the odd thing that was ok, but overall I would not call any of them good.

I thought this anthology was a tad uneven, but overall spooky and effective. Richard Stanley's segment "Mother of Toads" was a dud. However, "I Love You," "Sweets," "Wet Dreams," "Vision Stains," and "The Accident" were all solid and satisfying affairs. Moreover, Udo Kier made for a splendidly creepy host in the wraparound story.

Five of the six stories are take-them-or-leave-them, but one (I Love You) is a brilliant little tale which is aimed at thinking adults - i.e. not the usual audience of horror movies.
