4.19 - Professor Marillo's assumption
When Daphne introduces Prof. Marillo to Katheryn, Marillo says, "So the deafness isn't hereditary". Meaning what?
"When you think of garbage, think of Akeem!"

She's a professor in Biology, I'm sure she's done research in genetics, so it was kind of like scientific curiosity.
shareSince many deaf children are born to hearing parents with no family history of deafness, Prof. Marillo's comment does come off as ignorant &/or offensive. Also, as in Daphane's case, children can lose their hearing later in childhood (via illness or accident).
Prof. Marillo always seemed
the "I'm-better/smarter-than-you" type anyway. Personally I was glad to see Kathryn 'fight back'.
