Started to watch Season 2 instead of 1...
From what a friend told me, the action in S2 takes place before the S1's so would it be a good idea to watch this first and then the 1st one ? I already saw 2 episodes from S2 and I'm hooked :)

shareTechnically it isn't Season 2.
It's a prequel miniseries whilst they film season 2.
'Gods' was produced because the guy that played Sparty in the first season got cancer and then was in remission and then it came back, so to give him time to recover more thoroughly, they made a prequel.
But he wasn't getting well fast enough, so they had little choice but to recast Sparty with another actor that looks vaguely like Andy does. So now they are filming that and it should be airing next year.
Hope that clear it up.

I heard about the actor. So by seeing this prequel, I will not spoil the series, and I can continue with the S1 and so on and everything should be ok :) Is that correct ?
shareYou should be fine doing that. In fact, you'll probably have more context for certain events if you do.
shareThanks :) I was a bit worried not to ruin the story line ...
Anyone have any idea how many episodes would this prequel last ?
The prequel is only 6 episodes. Originally, Steven DeKnight had wanted to do a 3 hour tv movie and then STARZ decided to expand it to a 6 part miniseries.
shareAwesome - thanks for the info.
shareWell the appeal of prequel is that you see where the characters were as opposed to what they will be. Nothing should get spoiled but your not going to get the same meaning of events. For instance if a character is dead in season 1 but it thought natural causes but we find out in the prequel it was murder......well different dynamic. I would try to watch season 1 before seeing the rest of Gods of the Arena.

Not really. We already know Spartacus going to revolt and taking the gladiators with him.
Racist Game = Pool. WHITE ball push COLORED balls back into holes. BLACK ball out = you win.
Well, I started seeing the Prequel at a friend's house, who already saw the first season. I saw the opening moments but didn't pay much attention to it as I didn't know anything about the characters or plot and so, to be honest right now, I don't remember anything from them.
Now I just gotta wait for the last 3 episodes of the prequel so I can later start watching the S1.
BTW - some torrent websites name this prequel as S02E01, S02E02 etc ... so that's why I was referring to it as "Season 2".
Ohhh well ... thanks for all the info.

yes its a good idea to watch season2 first, since it's events BEFORE season 1
shareBe warned! Don't watch the last 2 minutes or so from the finale of "Gods of the Arena" (episode 6). Major spoiler from season 1 (it's a flash-back to a scene in the season 1 finale).
And dont watch the first 2 minutes of gods of the arena, as it is also the same spoiler that the above poster mentions. Apart from that, then I say yes go ahead and watch GOTA before BAS
