I happen to read this short story by Harlan Ellison and i cannot overlook how similar the ideas are. The film just starts with the twist in the story more or less. Anyone else thought the same?

And, if the creator of 'Extracted' was inspired by Ellison, it certainly wouldn't be the first time that a movie maker was (re: 'The Terminator'; 'In Time'; etc.)
IMHO, Ellison should be more widely read by more folks. He is that good :)

Given his previous legal battles I find it hard to believe that he would just 'let this slide'. Maybe he can't prove it or maybe it hasn't made enough money to make it worth the effort. I love Harlan Ellison's works and admire his willingness to go to the mat with anyone who 'borrows' his works without compensation.
