i have not seen it yet, but i love how most of tom cruise's love interests are like half his age. the mummy was funny because he was 55-56 and the love interest was 28. i'm gonna take a while guess and assume the original top gun lady is not back for round two, because she looks old. so who is tom cruise packing this time?

The only thing we know here is that the events of Top Gun take place about 30 years before Top Gun Maverick. We know that because Maverick specifically says 30 years. If you assume that Maverick was in his low twenties during Top Gun, then he is in his low fifties here.

While I can't argue that the character's age and actor's age may not line up, it does at least provide some context. At least enough to counter the OP's assumption that the love interest in the movie would be half his age.
