I watched Maverick yesterday (loved it). During the movie during one of the briefings they displayed the Lat/Lon of the target and I thought it was around 48N 120W (rest of the movie blew my mind so I lost track of the number). Can anyone else recall? If this is correct that means the target is in northern Washington State (and also Washington State has their own air force :-) )

Yep, this is it. There's a reason they didn't name the enemy in the movie. It is intentionally vague without a nation-state bad guy. Speculation on which country it's "supposed" to be is futile. It's not supposed to be anyone.
The final act was filmed in the Cascade mountains in Washington state, so it makes sense. It's funny that they'd use the actual coordinates. I'm going to have to look that one up.
