Now That Sara Is Leaving...
I'm predicting this show will be cancelled...it's like it's on it's last legs anyways...they don't talk about anything unless it's Hollyweird related...

shareYet another tired, one note thread from the obsessive hate watching troll. Don’t quit your day job (if you have one) making predictions, Miss Cleo... And wouldn’t you know it? The Psychic Friends Network got it wrong...
shareIndeed. Why in the world would they cancel an Emmy award winning talk show? Naysayers have been predicting the cancellation of The Talk since day one. It's been on for nine seasons now. It ain't going anywhere just because Sara stepped down.
share"Word on the street" (as in "making things up”) is Julie's husband bought them those Emmys and he's the only reason the show lasted this long. And the childish hate watchers who troll this forum with redundant whining while ignoring The View's (which is constantly brought up as if anyone gives a crap about those screaming banshees here) empty board. *eye roll* For such an “intelligent” and “superior” (more like boring) program its board is about as active as a cemetery.
shareI predict it will as well. Wasn't this Sara's show anyhow? Like her actual show she owned and produced? Cast shakeups, set redeisgns, these are classic symptoms of a failing show. The "talk" isn't what it used to be either. Now they introduce a trending topic, and then usually quip a personal story from their lives only loosely related, if at all. One by one. Till Sheryl delivers the comedy zinger. Boom, off to commercial. Rinse, repeat. They rarely get involved in actual discussions anymore. It's a very scripted affair. You see them reading their cards more than ever. I still find the show entertaining but it's a shadow of its former self. And if you've been flipping around the dial, they've been clearing out old shows and old hosts left and right. Tis the season of talk format reboot. This show probably has one more season on the air with whoever replaces Gilbert, then they're gonna can the whole thing.
shareJust because there are some who wish with all their might for the show to get canceled (not that it would do anything to benefit their lives) that doesn’t mean the show is in danger of cancellation. They’re obviously still watching.
There are other shows that have had cast shakeups and set redesigns and they’re still around because they have viewers. If Wendy Williams’s trashy show can make there’s no reason why any show can’t either. It’s not going anywhere...
Yes, Sara was one of the Executive Producers and the Creator of the show.
As you mentioned, I have noticed that they all seem to heavily rely on their cards. You pretty much nailed it. I'm guessing if the show makes it one more season that Carnie Wilson will replace Sara. Even so, this show is on life support.
I agree. I have a feeling Gilbert, as EP, has some 'inside' info about cancellation. To go out smoothly, she's going with the 'I'm leaving the show' scenario, rather than be fired when the show gets axed. It hasn't been watchable in years - if ever - and this season was the worst.
shareYes, exactly! I think with her having more of an insider role, she would know more than maybe the other ladies would...and I'm sure she is keeping things close to the vest right now...this is for sure the worst season ever...I didn't care for Julie but I think the addition of Carrie Ann and Eve were not good...
shareEither she got word that the show is not being renewed, or she got word that her contract is not being renewed. One or the other - this wasn't a decision she made on her own to leave.
I'm hedging she was fired (and there will be more to come), and CBS will try to re-format this show and hire a new panel to 'juice up the ratings'. And like other shows, when you are personally 'let go', there's always the clause in everyone's contract that allows them to exit in their own way - so it doesn't come out that you're fired. 'Moving on to other projects' and 'spending more time with my family' are two of the biggest excuses to cover up "I've been fired".
Yes, what you said makes sense....I think she knows something...and of course if Sara was to openly be fired by the show being canned with her on it, don't you know that Roseanne would open her big gob because she's not a fan of Sara anymore...she went after her a few times in social media....
I believe that after this whole Les Moonves "sex and power" scandal came to light it caused an aspersion to Julie AND the show and so it became clear that The Talk was on the chopping block so whether it's by reformatting the show or axing it altogether, something is coming....
Definitely.
Sharon Osborne and Sara Gilbert made it very clear that the show was in the hands of the new execs back in September, and their fate was uncertain without Moonevs on their side, and Chen off the show. I personally think the reason Osbourne became so 'emotional' over Gilbert's announcement was that she now knows what's coming - this was Gilbert letting her no there's no future for the show.
I won't be surprised to see Osbourne telling the audience within a few weeks (by the end of May) that she won't be coming back, either.
Have you noticed that since they announced that Sara was leaving, there hasn't been any sort of announcement as to The Talk looking for a replacement host for her? That to me says a lot...
They had a bunch of fill-in's and whatnot when Aisha left and when Julie left etc...so are they going to come back next season and then look?
There hasn't been any mention whatsoever...hmmmmmmm
