For years, this B+ list celebrity/comedian/host has been this close to losing that host job. The end could come this week because she didn't release a statement supporting her boss. If you thought the purge on the show was awful a few years back, you have seen nothing yet.
Host: Sheryl Underwood
Show: "The Talk"
Boss: Les Moonves
Purge: Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete in 2011
Sara and Eve haven't released statements either so why is Sheryl the only one in "jeopardy" over losing her job? Just something made up and copied and pasted together.

I guess Julie Chen Moonves is standing by her man...
So now what are the ladies of The Talk going to "talk" about on their show? It certainly can't be anything about the #Metoo movement or cheating husbands or bullying in the workplace and the list goes on...
Can you say awkward?
Chen is gone for good. Expect an announcement this week.
shareWell there is no other way around this other than to replace Julie...I was surprised that they replaced Aisha Tyler with Eve...I don't think she's a very good fit...I would have thought they would bring on Carnie Wilson...who knows this could be Carnie's time to shine now??
Julie's "situation" simple constricts too many things and halts so many topics that they might possibly be able to cover...I think it would be awkward to see Julie sitting with the other women after they all called out her husband on his behaviour and issues...
It made it seems like she was coming back to The Talk today because she was back on Big Brother...I guess it's easier to hide behind a TV show that doesn't talk about what's going on in the real world...
I've never watched this show 'regularly' (I catch it here and there) for a number of reasons - one being the cast has never had any chemistry, since Season 1 - Gilbert had no personality (and still doesn't), while Lea Remini was a needy attention-getter competing with the other needy attention-getter, the sometimes-sober Sharon Osbourne.
To this day, they still don't have any genuine chemistry among them. They act like five women who are making polite chit-chat about celebrity gossip while sitting in their doctor's waiting room. There's no energy, no dynamic among them - it's all so polite and sterile.
I don't watch it faithfully...when I do watch it, I pretty much chalk it up to background noise...I don't think there is much chemistry either with the cast...I think Sara Gilbert actually does have the ability to talk about politics but the other women couldn't keep up so the subject gets avoided about 98% of the time unless it's talking about what Melania is wearing...
I got peed off when Sharon Osbourne was extremely rude on another late night talk show and totally degraded all of the ladies on The View calling them all nasty names...what a biatch!

Sheryl is very intelligent. I hate when she speaks incorrectly and cracks lame jokes about food but she has shown that she has a functioning brain and is capable of making thoughtful observations. She's also an outspoken Republican and it would be interesting to hear her thoughts on political topics but I'm glad this show steers clear of politics. That's The View's territory and they can cover that.

Except for Barbara. The biatch is crazy but not that crazy to come after her.
Yes, you hit the nail on the head with Sheryl...when it comes to really sad things, she can be very thoughtful when she wants to discuss something sensitive BUT then flip that around and add the incessant joking that she does what with her "cousin Gladys at the swap meet" (or whomever she mentions) and the slangy verbiage she spews goes on to further stereotype certain people so it just gets to be too much...
shareAnd "Rent-a-Black-Mama" jokes. I wish she'd understand that she can be funny without all the stereotypical stuff. Then again she's made a career out of it.
shareExactly!
When she wants to, she can be very thought provoking and bring out a tear from the viewers but yes, that stereotypical schtick that she does is just abhorrent and I can see the ladies cringe sometimes...
I wanted Garcelle Beauvais for Aisha's seat but I've come around to Eve. I always thought of her as this tough chick with no sense of humor but she's really sweet and likeable.
As for Carnie I'm perplexed as to why she isn't a full-time cohost but maybe she likes to just pop in every once in awhile. *shrugs*
I thought for sure that Carnie was going to nab Aisha's seat but was pretty surprised to see Eve there...to be truthful I didn't even really know who she was...I didn't watch a lot of the host fill in's when they were looking for someone and if Eve was there, I didn't see her...I just figured that Carnie would be named as the host in the end...it's also possible that Carnie didn't want a full time gig or want to make the commitment that it entails...
They're going to need someone who has a brain and can steer a conversation...
Eve sat in as a guest host for only a few shows and her name was never in the running as far as I knew. It was between Garcelle and Carrie Ann Inaba from Dancing with the Stars so when Eve was announced it seemed so random. It took me awhile to like her because she was so quiet and nervous and would trip over herself asking questions but she's come a long way now.
shareI just feel like Eve was out of left field...I did see Garcelle...I remember her but Eve was like under the radar for me...well, it wasn't like I watched The Talk faithfully or anything as I mentioned in another thread to where I would remember Eve...I just don't think she has any chemistry with the gals...now, Carnie does...
shareSpeaking of chemistry I feel it between Sara and Sheryl and a bit with Eve but nothing whatsoever with Sharon. She's so bitchy and hateful and a back stabber. They giggle at her comments but you know deep down they wish they had a bucket of water handy.
shareSharon sticks out like a sore thumb...I do see the camaraderie between Sara and Sheryl...they're all more light hearted and Sharon is just like a bull in a china shop..
