Terrible audio this season?
It's become frustrating to watch
shareI thought it was just me, cant make out a bloody word especially when they are speaking in english with japanese accents. Very frustrating! It was the same last year as well.
"Just because I wear the same tiny shorts everyday doesn't mean I don't wear many hats" Coach
I thought it was our sound bar. I could never get it adjusted so I could hear!!!!
Make that three of us. Too much ambient noise, foley track is too loud at times, and it seems like the actors have been encouraged to mumble and whisper. I'm a believer in the school of film where if the script matters you should be able to understand it.
shareMake that four. I am struggling to hear a good portion of the dialog. I have a high end audio system to boot.
shareIt's maddening since this show has such high production quality but the sound mix is just awful. It's like 3/4 of the characters are whispering in an orchestra pit. I almost wish they just spoke their native languages and had more subtitles -- like Narcos -- since I don't want to have to cycle closed captions on and off. Plus, like that other person said, when something explosive happens I have to reach for the remote really fast to turn it down and my dogs bolt out of the room completely terrified.
sharenow that you mention it i agree. they had to cut costs somewhere, this show looks insanely expensive.
shareYes, I am experiencing the same issue. Very difficult to hear the dialogue. The background music drowns out the actors' voices. You end up having to turn volume up really high and then when explosions occur, you've practically blown a speaker.
I aim to misbehave!
Or you can enable the subtitles. If you can read, of course.
"Relics of ancient times. Lonely cenotaphs. Standing along that melancholy tideland."
Unfortunately we can read rudeness very clearly.
shareIt's funny cause I haven't had any issues with audio clarity, but the subtitles have been terrible.
shareHaha, great comment ... but that is what I actually did from time to time!!
Still leaves us with bad audio. Very disappointing. :(
Bass is too loud and it suppresses mid and treble.
shareI agree. The sound quality is terrible and the dialogue is nearly inaudible. It is an extremely well done series. I have never seen a program with such poor audio. I had to use closed captioning to know what was going on. Where were the sound engineers ? I would love to know what happened and how it got released with such poor audio.
shareNot alone in this, mumbling seems to be bit of a trend. However, can forgive it as the opening titles are a work of art, amazing. Had to use earphones to watch it.
shareI think I need closed captioning to understand the dialogue. I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems hearing the dialogue. Yeah, the audio on this show has big problems!
My husband and I also watch Mozart In The Jungle after we've watch MITHC and I have no problems with the audio on that show.
