So the happy ending is...

Himmler gets put in charge?

Talk about a dystopia!

LOL. I was thinking the same thing watching that episode 'I'm watching an alternate reality where Himmler is the closest thing to a 'good guy'...jesus-fin-christ.'

At least that scum Heydrich got what was coming to him.

It's worse than that.

Hitler was the one resisting war with Japan.

However, it may be that having witnessed all the films he knew more about how this affected his own fate.

If this is Locke, then who's in there?

Without any admiration for him on my part, I still thought that made sense. He's spent his life building an empire. Now it's enormous and prosperous. He doesn't want to see it destroyed or seriously damaged.

There is simply no need for war with Japan. The only people with anything to gain would be potential new rulers who could use the war to increase their power and level of support.

Hitler wasn't rational in that way. Remember the Nero Decree

It wouldn't have been seriously damaged.

He saw the film that showed San Francisco destroyed and Germany was already overwhelmingly more powerful than Japan simply due to the nukes.

If Germany, taught by Hitler, really had a notion of a superior race, then it makes sense that they would want to remove an inferior race from the picture altogether. In light of that, it's actually kinda odd Hitler didn't take advantage of it.

Season 1 was worse in terms of happy ending. It came to the point where you had to root for Smith and Hitler because the alternative was worse.

reply

i think the show does a good job at making every side look bad. the resistance, japanese, and Reich.

You can't persuade fanboys. You'd be better off trying to convince a wall. ~CodeNamePlasmaSnake~

As opposed to Smith and Himmler?

reply

...not something that's happened yet, I believe. If I'm right, then you cannot come up with any such conclusion.
