Season 2 was fantastic

Just finished it up, I really enjoyed it. This show reminds me a lot of Battlestar Galactica, and not just because nearly every member of the resistance is a former cylon (though if I see another BSG alum on here I'm calling conspiracy).

Marked improvement over season 1, which was good but poorly paced early on and seemed to focus too much on Joe and Juliana.

While Juliana's character improved, I still don't see the point of Joe's character except as a plot device to turn John Smith into the hero of the show. He's been annoying since day one, and all he does is whine, and is not really that likeable. Plus his acting is miles below many of the actors on this show.

However, the other characters on this show make up for it. Hopefully season 3 follows season 2's footsteps and writing style and keeps things tight like this season, I just am wondering where they can go from here.

3 Cylons so far. Yeah S2 was vastly superior with razor sharp storytellling and elevated acting. More focus on the variety of characters instead of just those aforementioned two; especially the antagonists. Let's face it; the four most fascinating characters are Smith, Helen, Kido and Tahomi. On a par with Bloodline as the two best dramatic series on TV.

Yes I agree! Season 2 was excellent and I loved getting to know the other characters more who are much more interesting.

I disagree. Season 1 was better. The Sci-Fi twists of Season 2 did not help.

PENECTOMY...a word I don't get to use every day!

Yeah, sure, season 1 was better with nothing happening for literally four episodes. Give me a break

SPOILERS
I also enjoyed season 2 quite a bit. And the story ended where I hoped it would; a Cold War between the Reich and Japan.
And frankly, I'd be fine if the series ended at season 2.

* The series extended the ideas from the book about as far as it could go.
The German and Japanese empires are ruled by murderous jerks but at least the entire world won't have nuclear war along with another massive genocide.
It would be hoped that the stalemate between the two empires over the next 50 years or so would eventually evolve into introducing democratic institutions.
But that imo is best left to the imagination.

The visions of a world where the Allies won (with Tagomi) was played out and doesn't need to go further.
The resistance did its thing and its story is about done.
The true man in the high castle was revealed, including what his overall plan was which depended on Juliana.

Again, the series went about as far as it could go with the source material.

Imo at least, BB ;-)

it is just in my opinion - imo - 🌈

I agree about Joe. The actor doesn't bring much to the role, certainly not enough to make me care about him or even understand what motivates him at any given moment. He just meanders through the plot or something.

People found Frank annoying this season but I like Frank way more than Joe. I think he's compelling and (sometimes) sympathetic, and I like his banter with the store owner. The actor is good too. And it doesn't hurt that he's IMO very good-looking.
