Neutral Zone

Why would either jap or nazis establish the neutral zone In an area of such abundant mineral resources? The neutral zone borders just seem to be arbitrarily drawn and not thought out.

What resources?

Two country have the availability of all resources on Earth.

When the time comes to take the resources in the Neutral Zone they will.

However, it is far better to offer a peace offering to Americans who can't survive without the support of the nazis & Japan. It also is a good spot for a buffer zone between two countries that don't care much for each other.

If I were you, I'd wanna be me too.

I think they had no choice, it's funny the Nazi's allowed it to be that big, maybe there was too much uprising and they needed that much space for them. I was surprised we didn't see much about it in season 2, although the eps in the neutral zone during season 1 were kind of boring. There's gotta be some good uprising going on there.

Given the size of the country and the Neutral Zone's purpose as a buffer it would have to be pretty close to that size to work. It's also comprised of mostly mountainous areas which happen to be within the borders we see. Land that's easy to send troops across was conquered.

The Nazis would have thought of the Midwest like another Ukraine given Hitler's preoccupation with controlling huge amounts of farmland. No way any significant amount of flat fertile land would go unclaimed.

Economically, both sides appear to be free to trade with the natives with the advantage of having hard currency. Locally owned mines could be sources of cheap natural resources.

IT appears to be a great source of "enriched uranium". That good weapons grade stuff coming straight out of those locally owned mines. Ready to be loaded onto tour buses and made into an atom bomb.

We don't know and it doesn't matter. Do they have to explain every single decision they made? Such described details would only be important if it advances the story.

Brevity is the soul of wit.
