Juliana's aikido skills. Where did they go?

In the first episode of this show she was tossing experienced Japanese aikido practitioners around like confetti. She never ever seemed to have any sort of physical prowess after that. Ummm...wat? Granted, I've only watched through season 2, ep 5 but she is just a regular chick (easily intimidated, victimized, in distress, etc). Dang, I was hoping that her martial arts skill would be a factor at some point. And yes, I knew that that one dude went over the dam but he was kicking her ass up to that point and it seemed almost like an accident when he fell.

Her skills will come into play at the end of season 2. Keep watching :)

Yes, but just the once. Perhaps they could have displayed some of it during her S2 escape from the trunk of the car.

Aikido is more like sophisticated "blocking" and feinting... you use the power of an opponent's movement against him, by deflecting his fist or weapon & allowing him to slam into your elbow or fist with his own power.

There are throws as well--- but they rely on the attacker already being in motion. He has to be attacking with force, in order for you to use that force against him.

I don't see how that could possibly be used on a car-trunk, seeing as it wasn't hurtling towards her with a fist outstretched.

Sometimes fires don't go out when you're done playin' with them.

Yeah. Me neither. Sounds painful.

What I was wondering is if it couldn't have been of use "during her S2 escape from the trunk ... ".

I went back to clarify my post, but found that it wasn't necessary.
