Pearls before swine get chewed up with the shellfish.

Hardly a single word about the genius behind this and every other alternate reality narrative-thread for the last 50 years on this board is sad beyond belief. Of course they dumbed it down and sexed it up for you and it's still like explaining 'Eastenders'/'Dallas' to grandma. Personally the question I find interesting is what Phillip Kindred might have thought of this (not you, unless you're agreeing with me of course).

Not the acting or the lighting or the colour timing that *beep* interneteers think gives them cache, but what they did to his massively underrated work to make it palatable to the masses; those os you who couldn't be bothered to explore his work despite it's heavy influence on all the imitators you've enjoyed for generations. Blade Runner was important in a different way and so the fact that Scott hadn't even heard of him when he was taken on to make that film doesn't matter, and Dick was pleased just because he was finally getting some recognition after a lifetime of small potatoes. Not small potatoes for those, Scott included, who after being tipped off by people who actually read the books, very kindly bring his stories to people who, despite the extensive repackaging, still don't really get it.
