Finished S02E05 - will it get better?
I really liked Season 1 of this show. But I can't help to be completely bored by S02. I have completed half of it - will it get better?

The last two episodes tie up alot of the arcs, with a couple of HUGE cliff hangers in the last episode.

No. It's turned into a soap opera.
Joe Blake spends about 7 episodes acting morally superior to his father and crying about his daddy issues, 1 episode where he tearfully accepts his father and wants to stay with him, and then another 2 episodes where he's back to the same morally superior attitude. He's gotta be the most useless annoying character, who didn't do anything the whole season except whinge and act like he's better than everyone else (the only time he actually DID something was in the final episode).
I didn't like the first 5 episodes, and my opinion didn't change over the last 5. I kinda wish I didn't waste my time with it, but at least I know now and don't have to worry about watching season 3.
Well isn't it great that not much focus is actually spent on Joe then? My god how can you judge the entire series based on his performance?
shareJoe was just one example of how boring this show has become, and I'm not going to bother listing every other example just to answer the OP's question.
Also, Joe was in every episode, and they spent a lot of time showing him with his father, and developing a relationship with that German chick, and none of it went anywhere, so I'd say they spent a lot of focus on him.
I liked season 1 better too, but found s02 very good, I think it is worth finishing, the last 2 eps are really good.
