No Civilian Govenors?
When WWII ended here, Eisenhower was temporarily in charge of Germany, and
MacArthur was in charge of Japan. Why no similar positions here? Or do Smith and Kiddo server in those roles?
There are probably local governments subordinate to Germany or Japan.
We only see the inner workings of the SS and police (under the Gestapo?), but I'd think there would be a party and a head of state, but very weak. The airport and school are named for real life American Nazis of the day.
The Japanese might still be doing more of a direct military occupation. The only people doing police work seem to be soldiers or intelligence officers, not civilian cops.
But that's impossible! How will the Emperor maintain control without the bureaucracy?
