Frank

So did we see his dead body?? I looked for it and couldn't pinpoint where it was. Are we just to assume Frank and the other girl he was with died?

Yes.

BUT the timeline could have been reset/changed when Juliana shot George Dixon.

I guess we will have to wait for Season 3.

What are you talking about? There is no "resetting/changing" timelines at this point. What happened happened. Either he died in the explosion or he didn't. Nothing Juliana did right now would change that. All that's going on right now is seeing how events unfolded in alternate timelines and trying to recreate favorable outcomes. In many other films, everyone's actions led to San Fran getting nuked... but in one timeline, where Dixon gets shot in an alley, that San Fran didn't get nuked... therefore, The Man in the High Castle tried to recreate those events to get that same outcome... Juliana shoots Dixon, Dixon is prevented from getting Smith arrested, Smith is able to go to Berlin, and the nuke on San Fran is prevented... nothing has been reset.

Yeah, this user made a similar comment in another thread. The realities aren't "reset" by actions.

If Frank died in the explosion, but he returns in the next season, then it's going to be Frank from the alternate reality (which could be very interesting). User doranbriscoe said much the same thing in this thread, which I agree with.

It may well be a case of keeping it open for a third season (assuming there is one). Because their dead bodies were never actually shown, the show runners could always use the idea that either or both of them miraculously survived if they wanted. On the other hand, they could be hailed as heroic martyrs for the Resistance.

Yeah I bet that Frank returns, in one of two ways:
1. We were never shown his body, therefore, he could have gotten out just in time.
2. If Frank died in the explosion, an alternate version of Frank could make it over to TMitHC timeline, just as Trade Minister Tagomi's aide Kotomichi did. Not that he would have much reason to, but it's still a possibility if that alternate Frank feels compelled to help.

I mean, yes they gave him a small tribute at the end of that episode with the flashback, but I think they left it too open-ended for such a main character to have his death be given such an ambiguous end.

The first way is impossible, unless Frank can teleport. He was in the middle of a shooting exchange right until the last fraction of a second before the bomb blew up.

No, we didn't see the dead body. I don't think we have any reason to assume anything.

Agree. Hollywood brings characters back from these situations all the time.

If Kido could survive the explosion why not Frank and his new girlfriend?

Exactly. The bomb created a hole in the floor. Inspector Kido was still alive on one side of the hole, so it is certainly possible that Frank and/or Sarah survived on the other side of the hole. I'm not saying they definitely DID survive, but there is also no reason to assume that they are definitely dead.

If they wanted us to know that they are definitely dead, then they would have shown us their bodies, just like they showed us Sergeant Yoshida's body. Instead, they left it as an intentional mystery that will probably be addressed next season.

Sarah might be dead, but they would not have only shown us Sarah's dead body and not Frank's, because that would cause the viewers to pre-suppose that Frank had a different fate than she did, which would ruin the mystery of it.
