Marshal (spoilers)

In Season 01, Episode 04 "Revelations", why didn't Joe and Juliana kill the Marshal in the abandoned building in Canon City, when they had the chance?

reply

Because the plot is so full of holes, the story so ridiculous and contrived that frankly, no one by now cares where this is going?

I started tuning out after watching that "marshall" cock his shotgun several times in a row without firing (which merely ejects a perfectly good round). Ooh, that looks so cool and frightening to TV audiences. Just like when the resistance guys pull the cocking lever of their thompson machine guns several times while pointing it at the two heroes.
Sheesh. This is making Bosch look good. Can't believe Ridley Scott was involved in this mess. The starting idea was so cool. What a mess they made.

LOL,

I agree with you. This show started out good for me, but it quickly went downhill. My wife and I are watching this show as a filler until our other shows (GOT, Homeland, Westworld, etc) return and I just couldn't get past ALL of the plot holes in this show.
The part with the Marshal that made me roll my eyes was how he was after Juliana. She ran to get in that car and was having trouble starting it. He could have just shot her then and ended it. Instead he kept taunting her. Ok, I understand that it's for suspense but we ALREADY know she's not going to get killed by him so it was ineffective. Not only that, but once she DOES get the car started, she drives RIGHT past him where he could have pretty much shot her POINT BLANK and killed her. Right after this Joe pulls up in his Truck and runs up to the Marshal. Why didn't the Marshal SHOOT Joe. How did he know he was running up to him to tell him "I'm a Nazi and they don't want her harmed" ? ?
Unbelievable stuff like this happens ALL throughout the 2 seasons and it just adds up to the point where I can't take the show seriously. I WANTED to like it but I just can't.

It might have something to do with saving the character for the future. Season 2 ended with a couple of characters heading to the neutral zone, after all.

Brevity is the soul of wit.

At that point Juliana couldn't bring herself to kill except in immediate self-defense and Joe may have known that the Marshal was valued by the Nazis.
