So, now that both Saga and Martin are single will the writers try and put them together for series 3? if there is one.

I got that vibe sometimes too, even in earlier episodes (like the hug scene by the water).

But as already mentioned´: right now she is kinda pissed at him, so it depends on if he is able to smooth things over.

Spoiler episode 10: Martin gets arrested for killing Jens.

reply

Yeah, we can pretty much rule this one out by now.

A real downer btw (the spoiler tagged portion).

At least she admitted that they are friends. Martin has been waiting 20 episodes for that ;-)

I don't think Saga would ever do anything with him. He's really not her type. I also think that it's very unlikely he will forgive her for getting him arrested.

Regardless of Saga turning Martin in, they would never get together, they would never in a million years be attracted to each other. I think US audiences like unresolved sexual tension, or whatever, but Europeans are a bit more sophisticated and don't require the lead actors to be paired off all the time. Their professional and social relationships are multilayered, as it is, we don't need to to see them getting it on. Far more interesting would be their relationships with new partners.

Kim Bodnia, the actor who plays Martin, says 'no' in this interview http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2014/jan/31/the-bridge-kim-bod nia-darkness-misery:

[...]There is never any question of Saga and Martin, for instance, despite his libidinousness and her love of sex, having an affair. "That would be wrong. For me, Saga is my daughter. In Norway they really want them to get together. I'm like, 'Guys, what does that say about Norway if men want to have a relationship with their daughters.' Really, though, I love Norway."

He is going to be in series 3, though:
Bodnia is looking forward to season three of The Bridge, which is currently being written. But hold on. Surely there's something that happens in the season two finale that precludes your appearance? "You think? Oh no, I'm going to be in season three. Trust me, dude. I'm not done with Martin Rohde yet."

reply

Shame he quit the series though! we will miss him dearly. :(
