Any news for series 3?
Another forum said it was due for autumn 2015! Surely that can't be right?

The producers are ready to go. The first two episodes of season 3 are already written. They are waiting for the official renewal from the financers, so late 2014 is a good guess ;-)
Athhajar ma yeroon.
Season 2 took two years to come out, so 2015 sounds accurate. It's good that they don't rush it.
shareIt's almost better that it's an if, and even then it's a long time coming, and even there's the suspense of waiting for it to pop up on the internets, the subtitle hunt, all that work to get something so unknown and remote . . . and yet so entertaining. If it was just a matter of recording off the weekly broadcast it wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable.
Even knowing you are one of the few in the US to watch it is really neat. How many saw it? Well, total downloads of the sole decent English subs from Addicted, season 10? 1,755. Over 5,000 for the terrible Google subs, I don't understand that at all, people with no patience, I guess. But in total, well less than 10 thousand, and that's about right for previous episodes as well. Probably that many people watched the prime time network show with the worst ratings of the week in, I don't know, Missoula Montana. Maybe more.
Private trackers.
shareOn the BBC Breakfast programme lady week (Jan 14) Sofia Helin and Kim Bodnia both said S3 was happening. Didn't say when, but they were adamant.
And why wouldn't they be. Everybody involved in The Bridge must be chomping to get started. They will know how good it is, and that cliff-hanger at the end if S2!!
But, take your time. Get it right.
In a Q&A writer Hans Roseveldt confirmed there will be a third series and that it will air in Denmark/Sweden in september 2015. Shooting starts in september 2014 and takes eight months.
shareAny evidence that it has started filming? I googled a little bit; just would love to have concrete evidence that another season/series is coming, rather than aspirational evidence. ;)
shareFilming has indeed started. You can find some proof on the Facebook page Bron-Broen-Bridge, such as a picture of the stunt team on the set. The German television broadcaster ZDF announced filming has started since the end of september. :-D
Does this series leave a lot of plot threads unresolved from one season to the next? If so, I'll wait until the show is over and done with before I start watching.
shareThe first season was completely resolved. The second season had quite a lot of closure, although some new questions were raised at the end. I will refrain from going into detail. Personally, I would say you do not need to wait. Definitely for season 1, and probably also for season 2.
shareI'm not sure what your concern is - which season is up and running where you are? Why might you not want to watch from the beginning?
Certain plot elements feed into season 2. It wouldn't be hard to work out what had influenced season 2, but it would provide some useful background to some of the characters and their choices.
I only have access to this show via Netflix DVD rental, currently only Season 1. No streaming, at least not yet.
Of course I will start from he beginning. But as I wrote in my post, if a TV show has lots of unresolved plot threads that carry from from one season to the next, I prefer to wait so I don't end up having to re-watch when the next season starts. Take Game of Thrones for example. I plan to wait until the entire series is finished before starting.
Based on d.lodewijks' comment, I may go ahead and watch Series 1.
Oh I see. In that case, no, it's not like you have to remember lots of threads in order to understand anything in a later series - it's not that complex and is mostly self-contained. I think the 1st series is briefly recapped at the beginning of the 2nd series anyway, and that's all you'd need to remember. A bit of the motivation of some characters is driven by what happens in series 1, but this is spelled out quite clearly, you'd be able to follow even if you hadn't seen the 1st series, and you're unlikely to forget it, anyway!
shareTake Game of Thrones for example. I plan to wait until the entire series is finished before starting.
