S2 cliffhanger

Even though I liked how the last season finale ended up focusing more on Saga and Martin's relationship than the actual crime solving, the cliffhanger still bothers me to this day…

It seems like the new season is completely disconnected from the last…? Do you think there will arise a connection between the two cases sometime during the new season - Or are we just supposed to accept the cliffhanger of S2?

I hope they will atleast mention it. But it's only been six months between the second and third season so maybe it isn't over yet. :)

I hope so. It would be amazing if there was some sort of connection between the cases, it doesn't even have to be a big one just one that feels natural. It would blow my mind.

Yes, he is suspicious for sure. We know he had a hidden motive in taking the case with Saga. In the preview for next week's episode it looks like he wants her to look at some case, I wonder what it's related to…

My impression is that there will be no connection between the two seasons, and that we'll never find out about who was the other person in season 2.
At least from what has happened so far.

I suspect that we will find out more about the identity of the mystery character shown at the end of S02,
as there is no longer any doubt that some of the events from last season will have a significant
impact on the plot line of the current season.

It is Rasmus from S02. You might remember that he, and the unfortunate Pernille, were
brought in to the Malmo station to help with the case. Rasmus and Saga clashed several times
before she revealed to the rest of the team that he had withheld evidence. At that point,
Hans kicked him out in front of the whole crew. Incredibly humiliating. Now, it is likely that
he is up for some payback.

Right, I forgot about that. I did recognize him. However, I don't feel like that has any greater connection to the storyline last season - Only for Saga's case, personally.

The introduction of this character indicates that the writer is prepared to
continue with plot elements that began in the previous season. It gives
me hope that the last scene of S02 will be addressed at some point
during the next four episodes.
