Season 3 theory (spoilers)

This post contains spoilers, so don't read if you haven't seen season 3.

I have seen the first five episodes. I think what the victims (excluding the priest, killed by a copycat killer) have in common is mistreatment of children -- at least as perceived by the killer.

- Victim 1 Helle Anker was about to open a kindergarten where children were not to be defined by gender
- Victim 2 Hans - the guy who kidnapped him for ransom (and was later shot, presumably by *the* killer) said that because of Hans's involvement in his case, he would no longer be able to see his children once he got out of prison (something along these lines)
- Victim 3 - a paedophile - self-explanatory

This leaves a list of potential next targets:

- The woman who had an affair with the 17-year-old guy who committed suicide
- The pregnant girl who sold the baby to the wealthy man, and everyone connected to that storyline really
- Saga - this season has introduced the idea that she might be responsible for her sister's suicide - however that's what her mom says and there is something off about her character
- Henrik - it looks like his missing wife ran away with the children - was he the reason?

Well, the husband of the woman who had an affair with the 17-year-old guy who committed suicide was the next victim, so that was confusing ;-)

The guy killed himself after the husband had spoken to him rather insensitively. Obviously this doesn't prove the theory, but it isn't confusing to me.

No, the husband was killed in the wooden barrel the day after the 17-year old had killed himself. Making the husband the 4th killing, which is confusing considering your theory.

There was definitely something off about how she told Saga she expected the case would be solved by now.

This aligns with my theory in the sense that the husband was killed as punishment for treating badly the guy who committed suicide. He was 17, he was a child.

Interesting theory. And it would make sense that the killer will target either Saga or Henrik; the killer this season (which I'm assuming is different from the one last season) seem somehow more connected personally to Saga than previous ones. In S1, for example, there was a personal connection to Martin.
