I know this is a TV-show, but seriously....

If policemen has this kind of low martial arts education and its this easy
to get out of a policestation while under arrest, then there's no wonder why
no one respects the police.

In my opinion, all police should go through a yearly physical examination
and if they don't pass for field-duty, they get a pay-decrease and put on
desk-duty until they either pass or they get fired after 1 year for failing
to get into shape.

ALL police working in the field should be able to defend themselves AND run
a certain distance over a certain period of time. Have suspects getting away
because the police were too fat or out of shape to keep up with the suspects
is unacceptable.

Also, a suspect just walking out of a policestation, even under threat of arms,
should never happen. Once you draw weapons against the police in a policestation,
you should be a justified kill.

So if this show tell about how the police in the scandinavian countries works,
im no longer angry over their cutbacks, because they deserve it.

I believe the point of that scene was to show that Saga was mentally unstable. We saw afterwards how completely broken she was about her mistake. Usually, everybody is very on point when it comes to police protocols… What I did find unrealistic about the scene was that out of *everybody*, the guy shoots the little girl. That was a little too dramatic for my taste, but either way…

I think the original post does not refer to the scene you're talking about (it was posted before this episode was aired - except if the original poster can watch the series ahead of everyone else!). Now that you mention it, though, Saga is not mentally unstable. She is stressed, grieving and exhausted, but "mentally unstable" means something different. If everyone who made a mistake was deemed mentally unstable, there wouldn't be any mentally sound people left in this world.

Ah sorry, I might have been too quick to assume what scene the OP was refering to.

What I meant to say was that Saga was mentally unstable - and thus unable - to do her job properly in that moment because of the things you mention. I was basically trying to say the same thing you are but might not have used the best expression.
