They only found it because Emil "remembered" all the sounds going on around outside.
And if I remember correctly the only one that was injured there was Emil. And then there was a lot of stuff from the killer.
So this must be because Emil faked his injures and wanted to blame Annika so the police would leave him alone so he could go on with his plans.

That's what I'm thinking too.
Emil knew that killing the foster parents would direct the police attention towards the former foster children. So he makes himself one of the victims to divert suspicion away from himself, and then sends them after Annika.
The only thing I can't decide is if she is a co-conspirator that he decided to sacrifice, or if she has no involvement at all. I imagine the set-up at her place must have been there for a some time, but she only went missing recently. That points to her being involved.
I don't think so but everything is possible in Bron.
