Watching episode 4 (in the UK)

am i right in thinking that Henricks wife is in his imagination?

i get the feeling that she died. she never interacts with the kids, only Henrick. he goes out with other women.

everything i've seen so far points to her not being real.

Really interesting theory! I did get a bit suspicious when we see him glancing over at her and then when he looks again she's not there anymore.

At the end of the episode when Saga is looking through the missing persons case file I'm almost certain she is the woman on the first page. So it seems likely she was among the women kidnapped. Hence the interest in the case

I think his entire family is missing. He was talking about how losing a child changes you etc. Earlier in the episode.

I was puzzled when, in an earlier episode, he told the Swedish police that he wasn't married. It was only when Saga went to his house and talked about his children being missing that I twigged that the wife was only there in his mind. But when did Saga learn that they were missing?

reply

during episode 4 (after i made this thread) henrick asks saga to look at a missing person file when she has time, she has time to look at the end of the Episode and we see that its a file on henricks wife and children.

in episode 5 she questions the same surname and asks if they're relatives which leads henrick to admit its his family, in episode 6 saga visits him at home and he admits that he still sees them and talks to them around the house.

Gosh, I was thrown when the wife was revealed as a figment/ghost. There hadn't been any sci-fi types of scenes in the first two series with something inside a character's mind being shown as real. I have to admit it disappointed me a bit. I just watched the mini series "River" a few weeks ago, so I'd already gotten my fill of that plot device.
