So...What Was The Point in.....(S3 Spoiler)

...re-introducing the Rasmus character? There was a big reveal, followed
by all sorts of insinuation that he and Linn were working together on some
kind of plot to remove Saga from her job, and have her charged with her mother's
murder. Linn could have done all of that by herself without the Rasmus character
being brought back at all. Then, after much speculation about his role in the plot,
his final moment on the screen involves him being scolded by Linn for not waiting
for back up. A major disappointment IMO.

reply

Rasmus got his second chance, and blow it.
Linn was just a very good boss but she did not understand Saga until in the end when she said she didn't think she killed her mother. And she also realized at the same time that Rasmus was a lousy cop.

I can't be bothered to have a sig any-more.

Rosenfeldt likes to go against expectations. You think that Rasmus being brought in is gonna amount to something, and then instead it doesn't.

That being said, Saga's fate is still a cliff-hanger at this point. I'm still not convinced that Saga's mother was able to break into Saga's appartment, steal nails, programme her computer and then convincingly make her suicide look like murder. We never saw her conversation with Rasmus. She might have gotten him to help her frame Saga. It's perhaps unlikely, but the possibility is there. She is manipulative, after all.

As for Linn, I don't think she was ever meant as a bad character. She just didn't understand Saga, but meant well in a misguided sort of way. In the last two episodes, it did seem like they started to get accustomed to each other.

Maybe I missed something, but what was up with the forensic guy during the last episode rushing in to tell Linn something very important that couldn't wait? Did he do the autopsy on Saga's mother and found something relevant?

reply

Yes, that's true. Good point. I wonder too now.

No, he had done the autopsy on Henrik's wife's body. It was found in Malmo, so he
had to report to Linn who then passed the info. on to Lillian

reply

The body was in episode 7 when Saga went to see the pathologist about something else.

It does seem the mother wasn't so savvy as to pull off all of those tricks with the computer and what not.

But if in some bizarre way, Rasmus helped her because of his own deep grudge that bordered on total revenge, then it's possible they were in it together. Though Rasmus may not have known it was suicide mom was going for. She may have lied to him about why she needed to get into the apartment and have the computer rigged.

Rasmus was quite good on computers, if I recall. So he could have set up the timer to put Saga in a place alone. Maybe mom sold him a bill of goods about setting up Saga to ruin her investigation or something to simply make her look bad.

After all, she was a professional liar in the extreme. She snookered Linn and Rasmus and everybody but Saga.

But then went off on her own destroy-Saga mission once she had used Rasmus. Imagine a mother who will go to the extreme of killing herself just to exact revenge...on her own daughter from the grave! That's some sicko.

I suspect during the investigation to come, Rasmus will somehow be found out or will confess to the lesser charge of breaking and entering and it will all come out what mom was up to using him as her unwitting accomplice.

God, she was a horrific woman. No wonder Saga did not hesitate to lie to get her and dad into prison and away from Jennifer.

You have to reply to the right poster.
