I presume that Saga will be suspended, at least and may have to face a murder charge. Henrik has quit because he is haunted/consumed with the fate of his two daughters (how beautiful those girls were)
So no polis.
Is this likely to lead to a Saga/Henrik PI creation or is that toooooooooooo much wishful thinking ?
I think there is enough material still for a season 4 with Saga and Henrik together. Yes, I think they will expand on the cold case together without police knowledge and hopefully they will find Henrik's wife murderer and maybe find the girls (alive? dead?) but there will be some sort of outcome. And then there is Saga's case. I suspect despite all the evidence against her, she will fight on with the support of Henrik and at the trial we will discover how unbearably evil the mother was. Sofia Helin said in one of the interviews that she's not sure what more that can be revealed about Saga (I disagree) but even so, we don't care, do we? As long as she returns! It will only work if Thure Lindhardt continues, though. If not, they will have to fold it.
I really hope they'll make it faster, but apparently a production like this takes a long time. I watched the chat after the last episode (which was brilliant and I really like the end). Christian Wikander, the programme manager for SVT Drama/Entertainment and producer, and Hans Rosenfeldt, the writer, were answering questions, and there were quite a bunch about a season 4.
I think I'll just translate them here, it's easier than trying to tell you. I just ran it through Google translate, so the English isn't the best;
Julia: Will there be a season 4? Christian Wikander: We do not know yet. But Hans has more stories. But much more must be in place before it can be taken any decisions.
Alicia: Will the seasonal 4 ???? The world's best series! Hans Rosenfeldt: We don't know at present. We are investigating the possibility of talking with SVT and DR. Decisions about it is made in the spring, I would think...
Ante: Hoping for another season! And then with Saga Henrik of course... how interested are the main protagonists in this? Hans Rosenfeldt: It's all about what story we can tell, and to bring together everyone's calendars. If we find something that we think is better or as good as this season, I think everyone is interested, but there is plenty to be done ... I know it sounds boring, but we'll just see if there'll be a fourth.
Sincerely: How long does it take to shoot 10 episodes altogether? Christian Wikander: Approximately 100 shooting days.
Lena: What other countries is The Bridge aired in?? Christian Wikander: I don't know in how many countries it has been aired, but the series has been sold to over 150 countries.
Elin: How long does the whole creation of The Bridge about? Christian Wikander: Approximately 18 months.
Asa: Amazing series, both the direction and script! What scene are you most pleased with? Hans Rosenfeldt: I'm very fond of very many scenes, but I think the short scene when Saga lies next to Hans at his hospital room and Henrik walks in, it's incredibly nice and tells very, very much in just four lines.
Lisa: Thank you for an awesome season! How much is Hans R during recording? Hans Rosenfeldt: Very little. When they're shooting episode 1-4, I'm writing episode 5-8, and when they shoot those, I'm writing episode 9-10. So unfortunately, far too litte is the answer.
Jonathan: So all episodes recorded in order? How much change along the way? Hans Rosenfeldt: the episodes are shot in blocks. 1-4, 5-8 and 9-10. We change quite a lot from our storyline while we write the episodes, there will be many new and good ideas once we begin to write.
Hanna: How did Sagas mother die??? Have to know!! Hans Rosenfeldt: As it looks now, it was a suicide simulated a murder, to avenge on Saga, but you never know...
