After the way season 2 ended...

...I had assumed season 3 would be a continuation of the same storyline (remember the mystery guy in the shadows?) + sublot of Saga finding out what really happened to Jens (at the time, to me it seemed as if we were lead to believe Martin did it, when in reality he didn't).

I dont think Kim Bodnia's decision to leave the show would have changed this much though, so I guess I was always wrong. Like I assume season 3 would have just been the same as it now, but with regular scenes of Saga visiting Martin in prison and getting help with the case from him.

But yeah, anyway, just after seeing the end of season 2, did anyone else think the same as I did about the direction of season 3?

Not really, I figured with Martin exiting and some unknown amount of time passing (I think they referenced 6 months from the time Martin got sent to prison) that the series would come back pretty much like it did; new case, new partner, new social skill problems for Saga. And as well as she got along with Martin I didn't think he would show at all in S3 because she would view him as a criminal and choose not to associate with him, plus they gave her Henrik who IMO is a much more interesting partner.

Yes, I thought the same as you. The finale of s2 was really rich and fulfilling when it comes to character development but the plot left MAJOR unsanswered questions…

However, now that I think about it - It makes sense that they would want to "start the story over" as a symbol of a new beginning after Martin. It would have felt strange to continue with the same storyline even after Martin was gone.

Either way I STILL want to know answers from s2!!!
