How did the bad guy know that Martin was sleeping with his wife. There was some mention of a notebook I think, but during that episode that explained it, it was noisy and distracting in the environment i was watching it and I couldn't catch it all.

The family of Mikaela (his wife) had sent over a box with some of her old stuff. It included a diary or notebook of some kind in which she had written about her affair with Martin.
