Questions about S3 finale (spoilers of course)
Hello,
So I just watched all of these episodes today and yesterday and some things don't add up:
One, so Freddie was the father? All that about wanting to be a dad and he never mentioned the sperm donation? Maybe multiple donations?
Two, sure, Freddie is the father of Emil. But the father of Morten? When Emil is in the cell he says Helle Anker and Freddie Holst are his "creators"... But Helle didn't have another son, she was completely unrelated to him. She only had Morten. And Freddie clearly didn't remember her from when he was 17, so it's unlikely they met. And she definitely didn't take his sperm because the clinic had no record of her. So Freddie was a different father and Emil a different mother?? They are unrelated. Emil refers to Helle as creator and then his actual mother as dying making him lunch. Why get revenge on Helle and who is Morten to him?
Three, I can see killing the foster parents, if they kept him downstairs. And the child molesting teacher. But the others? As I said, Helle seemed unrelated. Hakan and Hans were just doing their jobs, oblivious. They had no idea. If he'd told either of them of the abuse, they'd have been moved. Freddie, dying to be a father, would probably have been very excited to hear from a son who grew up interested in art.
Four, how did he set up all of that at Annika's house without her noticing? Or did he move it after he kidnapped her?
Five, why shoot Lukas once, let him live and be smug and threaten police, then kill him with the three bullets in the street in front of many more witnesses?
Six, why make the whole thing revolve around abstract art, then tell the police it revolves around abstract art? Why not just kill them?
Seven, and I guess most importantly, how did Emil get the code for the clinic? And why contact Morten and give it to him? Why the confusing alphabets? Either he wanted to get caught or he didn't, leaving crazy clues doesn't do much. The clinic were very eager not to give away information, but Emil got hold of it somehow? And made it his email address? He was working at an art gallery, how does he have the funds to pay for a photographer full time anwyay? Emil is clearly unhinged, but not a millionaire. How did he find Hans and other people who went missing? How did he find that artist on Saltholm when the police couldn't do it?
And, finally, perhaps, the significance of the body parts? They theorise on "long arm of the law" "being heartless" and "maybe he saw something" but why the brains of the foster parents?
I guess I have a lot of questions, but all in all I thought the series was great and really enjoyable, the character development was stunning.
