Don't listen to the critics. Not every film has to be dark and gritty.
This film is a celebration of Queen and Freddy Mercury -
without leaving the bad stuff out, but not letting dominate it the theme.
I agree completely. I'm 50 and took my 23 year old daughter with me to see this and we both had tears streaming down our faces for the same reason: that would be the closest either of us would ever come to seeing Queen live. As soon as we got home, I pulled up the original Live Aid concert on YouTube and I was amazed at how closely replicated the film was with the movements and interaction with the audience. She is going to see it again tomorrow with a friend and I'm going at least one more time while it's still in theaters.
And, yes, by FAR it was better than A Star if Born.
