Her actions didn't make sense. (Spoilers)
Having experienced what she did, you would think she would be more cautious around strangers and especially a creepy new neighbor. For example, he's a single guy with a bunch of kids toys. He has a habit of silently appearing. He talks her into restoring his antique in his garage instead of her home next door. He's obviously interjecting himself into her family's life by talking her into letting him cook dinner for family and "won't take no" for an answer. He runs into her on the street and talks her into having lunch with him and tells her he's there for her if she wants to talk. He shows up at her son's baseball game.
Her behavior was questionable and beyond explanation. For example watching the neighbor through a telescope from her bedroom window in the middle of the night. Not questioning why he trashed his home office in the middle of the night. She's reluctant to be intimate with her husband but drawn to watching her neighbor through the telescope. When she's caught by her husband watching the neighbor, he accuses her of having a thing for the neighbor but she says nothing to defend herself. Everytime the husband tells her he loves her she doesn't tell him that she loves him especially the next day when he leaves on a business trip after she's caught watching the neighbor.
She's so naive that when the neighbor shows up at sons little league baseball game she's not suspicious? He offers to take them out for pizza after the game and when she refuses, the first time she's refused anything from him, he tells her about her husband having a female traveling companion. She doesn't see what the neighbor is up to and immediately jumps to the conclusion that her husband is cheating? She obviously doesn't trust her husband since she refuses to believe her husband and kicks him out of the house.
Seems to me that for someone who was attacked by an intruder and moved to a new neighborhood because of it she acted in the reverse of what you might expect. Yes she kinda blamed her husband for what happened to her but that hardly explains how she acted the way she did.
The writers were all over the place defining this woman's character which defied explanation.
