What the heck?
A detective and an Alien Warship? What genre is this thing now?
shareA shit one. It really is awful. Its like a movie made in the 80s with its plot points, but not a good one.
shareLike what is this? Law and Order means Aliens? What in the blue hell?
shareMore like Predator meets Ong Bak.
I've enjoyed it though... in a way )
So would you recommend I partake?
shareOnly if you love low budget SF movies from the 80s/early 90s. I'm talking Space Hunter, Omega Doom, Hardware etc. On the other hand, it's quite similar to some modern stuff imitating the 80s - Hunter/Prey, The Guest, Cold in July.
shareOooh then maybe I shall partake. Thanks for the tips (and bring me some figgy pudding)
sharethe events in this film start happening in parralel with the original skyline movie and then becomes a sequal around the mid point which is where where the first skyline movie ended. I think the plot point of the detective searching for his son was overstated in the summary as it feels more like a side plot compared to the alien invasion which is what the movie is really about.
Its really just an Alien warship. The detective looking for his son angle was hapening before the initial invasion.
I don't get the hate. I quite enjoyed it.
shareI don't get the mediocre reviews of the original Skyline movie. I enjoyed it a lot and I'm not that easy to please.
shareThe first one was pretty good and managed to be kind of mysterious without being annoying about it ala Lost.
I can’t quite understand why it’s so hard to produce reasonable low budget science fiction. It doesn’t have to have Shakespearean acting, elaborate VFX or super original ideas.
