Eh, i was surprised how much i enjoyed the first film

...i went in ready to hate it, because "AVP: REQUIEM" was an awful, awful film..

SKYLINE was actually pretty good, and had fairly believable take on how things between us an ALIENS would actually go (AKA we really had no chance.)

I'd give a sequel a shot.

Though I am surprised the Brothers STRAUSE aren't involved.

I agree. The fact that humans lost made the first movie good in my opinion, no miracle victory like Independence Day or War of the Worlds.

But will a sequel ruin that?

Yeah, I liked it too. Sure the main characters, the young couple, were pretty bland, but it still a cool pop corn/action flick and I loved how down to earth it was. I'd take that over Independence Day goofiness any day. The drone battle alone makes it worth watching.

It's a bit of a guilty pleasure but far from "the worst thing ever".

its one of the most underated movies. shure the main plot and main actors where flawed but there some unique point there.

first, the aliens where much more realistic than the usual hollywood crap. kinda intelligent self replicating machine hive. actually thats pretty close to what we would expect to colonies a galaxy in combination where a species hit the technological singularity. just the explamnation for brain harvest is i think kinda wrong.

still harvesting living things would be one of the things that makes sense to conquer earth. everything else wont make much sense either. any resource is much easier to get in space then here.

the kind of warfare was spot on. you aint need to fight like humans with much supirior technology. you could just ignore the population (if you aint wanna harvest them). why waste energy for toasting citys.

the next part is that a supirior species could easy do what we do to others.
the scene on board the ship was exactly like fishing ships, where automated systems start to kill and process the meat.

i think that part was one of the things peopel hated most. it showed very plastic how we would look liek to our animals we harvest and process.
but not only show how cruel we are, but also took away our seat on the throne, now we are the fish and no longer the fisher, just like that.

and thats the hole, point, we aint supirior in face of an alien civilisation that would visit us, after all we would soley depend on their mercy. and there is no reason to expect one.

shure the end (where he became kinda immune to their controling radiation things) and took control over his new robot/monster body was garbage, but hey it had some very nice and frehs starting points.

still i dont see where the sequel would or could lead to, maybe a prequel but sequel? it would be like a rebellion in a fish tank. mankind is done, leave it like that :)
